Many people cringe at the thought of having to remove trim from walls. Not only is trim removal a tedious task, but it can also be quite frustrating, if the removal process does not end up going as smoothly as originally planned. Fortunately, there are a few key tricks one can use to make trim removal a whole lot easier.
First and foremost, make sure that you have a tiny pry bar. The tiny pry bar will be used to eventually pry the trim away from the wall. However, before that can be done, you need to score the seam between the trim and the wall with a utility knife. From there, lay down a wedge of wood or another kind of material against the wall where the leverage part of the tiny pry bar will be resting. This will prevent the wall from being dented during the trim removal process. Once that is done, you may proceed with the trim removal and pry it away from the wall. Propping up the pry bar should make you feel like you are not performing trim removal, but rather, peeling off a band aid. It is truly that easy.
